PRIVACY POLICY

Last updated: October 5, 2026

This Privacy Policy explains what information Quantum Snake (“the game”, “the site”, quantumsnake.dev) collects, why, and what choices you have. Quantum Snake is a free browser game; you can play without creating an account.

1. Data stored on your device (local storage)

The game uses your browser’s local storage to save your progress: Quantum Coins, unlocked skins and upgrades, interface preferences, your best score, and an anonymous randomly generated ID (UUID). This data stays on your device unless you choose to link a cloud account or submit a score. You can erase it at any time by clearing this site’s data in your browser settings.

2. Global leaderboards and the Hall of Legends

If you submit a score, the callsign (display name) you choose, your score, a timestamp and your anonymous ID are sent to our database (Google Firebase Realtime Database) and shown publicly on the Global Rankings and the monthly Hall of Legends. Please do not use your real name or personal information as a callsign. Callsigns are sanitized in your browser before they are sent. Submitting a score is optional.

3. Optional cloud backup (Google Sign-In)

If you choose to link a Google account, sign-in is handled by Firebase Authentication through Google’s own sign-in window. We never see or receive your Google password. Linking connects your anonymous game ID to your Google account identifier so your save can be restored on another device. Linking is optional.

4. Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand, in aggregate, how the site is used (for example, which pages are visited and roughly where visitors come from). Google Analytics uses cookies or similar technologies and collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and pages viewed. This data is used only to improve the game and the site. You can opt out with Google’s Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on or by blocking cookies in your browser.

5. Advertising (Google AdSense)

This site uses Google AdSense and may display ads now or in the future, including optional rewarded ads in the game. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this site or other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google’s Ads Settings or aboutads.info. To learn how Google uses data from sites that use its services, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

6. Hosting and server logs

The site is hosted by Neocities. Like most web hosts, it may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and request time) for security and operations. We do not use these logs to identify individual players.

7. Children

Quantum Snake is a general-audience game and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has submitted personal information, contact us and we will remove it.

8. Your choices

• Clear your browser’s site data to remove everything stored on your device.
• Skip leaderboards and Google Sign-In entirely and play without sharing any data.
• Opt out of personalized ads and analytics using the links above.
• Ask us to remove a leaderboard entry or a linked cloud save by contacting us.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the game changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised.
