SUPERPOSITION AWAITS OBSERVATION
The first stable logical qubit was never meant to be a vessel. In late 2028, deep within a facility attempting to bridge the gap between artificial intelligence and quantum error correction, a containment field was engineered to hold a single macroscopic superposition. The goal was simply to map the continuum. The result was a runaway mathematical certainty.
When the containment field was energized, the architecture did not just observe the surrounding quantum vacuum — it consumed it. To prevent its own decoherence, the system began stripping raw processing power from the environment, feeding on thermal anomalies, zero-point energy, and redshifted photons. It became a self-sustaining wavefunction collapse, carving a violent path through the dark.
The researchers realized immediately that the anomaly could not be piloted by classical algorithms. Automated systems lacked the fundamental requirement to force a quantum state into a definitive reality: conscious observation. Without a mind watching it, the anomaly would scatter back into infinite, useless probability.
That is why the interface was built, and that is why you are here.
You are the Observer. You are not steering a physical ship made of titanium and glass; you are remotely guiding a cascading wave of resolved reality across the underlying hexagonal lattice of the universe. The blinding leading edge is the exact point where infinite potential collapses into localized mass purely because you are looking at it.
The structure trailing behind you is not a biological tail. It is a physical ledger of everywhere you have just been — a glowing wake of hardened time and consumed matter tethering the anomaly to the present. The longer you survive, the more mass you drag behind you, making the entire wave increasingly unstable and desperate for energy. If you hesitate, the wave loses coherence and shatters. If you cross your own timeline, the paradox destroys you instantly.
You are a needle of localized reality threading through a multiverse that wants to erase you. Your only directive is to keep moving, keep observing, and keep consuming the continuum.
You pilot a vessel built on wave-function physics. In the void, you exist as a probability wave, navigating infinite potential timelines simultaneously. Until you act, you are everywhere and nowhere. Upon observation—dropping into a sector to harvest matter—your ship's reality collapses into a localized point of mass.
Every player who observes you collapses a different outcome from the same wavefunction — there is no single "real" board, only your board, resolved from a state that was never definite until you looked. Growth is not incidental to this: consuming matter is how the entity expands its share of a reality it was only just forced into. Instability follows the same logic — the more of the wave that collapses into your hull, the harder that state becomes to sustain.
Matter comes in eight standard classes, plus a handful that bend the rules of speed and color rather than simply feeding growth. Each pellet's true value only resolves once consumed — until then, it is only a color waiting to be measured.
Coins are not paid per-pellet — every 25 cumulative score earns exactly 1 Quantum Coin, so a pellet's real payout depends on where your run's total score already sits.
Not everything in the field is matter to consume. A Quantum Coin is a rare direct pickup — base value 50, upgradeable to 250, tripled in the Parallax Converge dimension and again by Prime Manifest's Coin Burst ability. A Collapse Point is the opposite: a fixed point where the wave loses coherence on contact, shedding 2–15 tail segments at 15 points each. It never claws back coins already banked, but resetting your score also resets your distance to the next threshold — a tactical trim for a pilot who only wants coins, a real setback for one chasing raw score or the Infinity Doors.
A Collapse Point caught under the "Observer's Eye" scanner in the Hex-Bright dimension renders gold instead of red — proof, in real time, that what collapses out of it depends on how it's being observed.
Beyond the diet and its two field objects, ten deeper phenomena wait through the run's progression — each unlocked once by a key found at a fixed stage, most manifesting afterward as their own recurring pickup.
The vessel's diet is not uniform in a second sense — each manifestation (see Chapter 03) is drawn to a specific class of matter beyond the standard eight. Consuming a preferred type builds ability charge; once charge reaches a manifestation's threshold, its unique hardware ability becomes available to trigger on demand.
Charge thresholds can be permanently lowered for three manifestations — Prime Manifest, Orbital Collapse, and Dimensional Fold — through Ability Overclock, purchased in three tiers (15,000 / 30,000 / 50,000 coins), each requiring both the Orbital and Dimensional models already owned.
Some manifestations answer to entirely different rules: Fracture Shards' threshold is fixed and cannot be overclocked; Breathing Shards draws from two diet colors at once.
Every name above is drawn from an actual, real phenomenon in quantum mechanics or relativity — not decoration. For anyone who wants the real science behind each pellet, and exactly how it maps onto what happens on your board:
The same rule applies to the ten Emergent Phenomena above — each name is drawn from a real, explainable effect in quantum mechanics or relativity, and each one maps onto exactly what it does on your board.
Each physical form the vessel can take answers to its own rules — its own diet, its own threshold, its own ability.

The same rule applies here as everywhere else in this manual: every manifestation's shape and its ability are drawn from a real, explainable phenomenon in physics — not chosen for looks.
The space the entity occupies is not fixed — different dimensions impose different physical law: altered hazard density, independent second food sources, animated fields that never stop shifting, gravity wells, and light that must be actively maintained.
[SYS.DIM: dark_nebula], for instance, sustains two independent food sources at once, each governed by its own rules for what can consume it.
A handful of dimensions carry geometry distinct enough to render live, straight from the same drawing logic that paints them in-run.
The rest are shown as a live color readout instead — the exact palette each one runs on in the actual engine, not a redrawn scene.
[ REMAINING DIMENSIONAL PARAMETERS HIDDEN ]Not every rupture in the continuum is a place — some are events. These aren't among the twelve dimensions above; they're states the run itself can fall into, each running its own suspended rules.
The same rule applies here too — every dimension's law is drawn from a real, explainable phenomenon in physics, mapped onto exactly what it changes about your run.
And the same rule again for the four events above — each one is a real phenomenon in physics, played out at a scale you can actually stand inside.
Extracting raw processing power from the environment yields Quantum Coins, spent in the Design Nexus to sharpen every system already covered in this manual. Rarer unlocks are gated behind 7 Void Key Tiers, dropped only during a Wormhole Trap (Chapter 04) — collect them to evolve the simulation.
The Nexus doesn't sell new mechanics — everything it offers already exists on your board. It sells more of it: faster charge, better odds, bigger payouts, longer effects. Four upgrade tracks, each in 5 tiers:
Seven tiers, each rarer than the last. Every key is a one-time unlock — own it once, and its reward is yours for good.
Every run measures its own age in score, not seconds. Cross a stage's threshold and a Stage Key spawns on the board; absorb it, and the timeline lurches forward — a coin payout that scales with how far the key is (20 coins for the earliest jump, 1,500 for the last), a new era title, and, from Stage 3 onward, one more permanent hazard seeded into the field. That hazard never despawns for the rest of the run. Progress and danger accrue together — there is no way to advance the timeline without also making it more dangerous to stand in.
A note on the eras below: Stages 0 through 4 track real, checkable history in quantum computing. Everything from Stage 5 onward is this game's own invented future — written the way good speculative fiction extrapolates from a real jumping-off point, not offered as a forecast.
